Philosophy
The physical poses make up 1 small part of Yoga. Patanjali defines the 8 limbs that make up Ashtanga Yoga in the Yoga Sutras.
We'll explore the 8 limbs of yoga through experiential learning, deep conversations, research, and self-exploration...
The curriculum is broken up into 10 modules. Each module corresponds to a different Yama or Niyama. Each week we'll discuss how to incorporate these ethical guidelines into our lives on and off the yoga mat.

Train with a diverse group of professionals
Courtney Avery, MPH, E-RYT-200
Lead Trainer
Courtney is a health educator, yoga teacher, and birth doula. Courtney attended graduate school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for her Masters of Public Health, specializing in health education and disease prevention. Working in clinical research while in grad school, her yoga practice kept her centered, leading her to enroll in a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training to deepen her personal practice. This changed the course of her professional career. She saw the profound impact that yoga had on her students' overall health and wellbeing, and decided to incorporate yoga for body awareness into her master's capstone health education program. She shares this practice with students all over the world through classes, workshops, retreats, and so much more. Courtney created the Movement & Health Studies Yoga School to empower others to share the practice of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and breath work in a welcoming and approachable way.

It really depends on what you are looking for, and what you put into it! Jiving with your teacher trainers and their style of yoga is the most critical. I encourage you to check out my style of yoga! Head over to my online studio and start your free-7-day trial of my monthly membership to see if you like what I'm up to!
It depends on how you like to work! If you complete the program in 10 weeks, you're looking at roughly 20 hours of work per week. You have 2 months to complete your self-paced learning lessons, and graduation requirements. If you decide to attend the retreat, you can complete a lot of the contact hours, practice teaching, and hands-on-lessons in April, which lightens your load throughout the 10 weeks.
I went into my first teacher training not wanting to teach yoga... I just wanted to learn more and improve my practice. You can totally do that too! This training will give you a fresh perspective on life in so many ways! You never know what may happen in the end <3
